On essay questions, students can resubmit the entire essay to earn up to half the points they missed on the essay question.

Homework: Homework will be turned in on a weekly basis. Students will be responsible for keeping their homework organized in order to turn it in all at the same time. All homework will be collected on first thing on Monday morning, in order, with an assignment sheet on top. For the most part the only homework students will have to do on the weekends is to finish any homework from the previous week.
Participation:
Thing that will make you lose participation points:
1.      Talking during class lectures or discussions
2.      Refusing to participate or work in class

Classroom Rules and Expectations:

Make-up assignments and late work: Students have one week to make up assignments for full credit if they have an excused absence. Work is late if there is no excused absence and it is turned in after I ask for it to be turned in. This means if I ask for an assignment at the beginning of the period and receive it at the end of the period it is considered late.

Late Work Passes: Students will receive 3 passes for late work for the entire semester. These can be stapled top a late assignment in order to get full credit. Passes can be turned in at the end of the semester for extra credit.

Bathroom Passes: Students are expected to use the restroom before or after class. Students will receive 3 bathroom passes in case they need to use it during the middle of class. After the three passes students will lose points on their participation grade.
There will be chances to earn additional bathroom and late work passes throughout the semester.

Cell phone Policy: Students will put their cell phones in the cell phone caddy at the beginning of the class. If a student is seen with a cell phone it will automatically be taken from the student and sent to the office. There will be many periods where students will use their cell phones. When this happens they will turn in their cell phone and then go get it when it is time to use it.

Plagiarism: Plagiarism is unacceptable in my classroom or any classroom. This includes copying off of your neighbor’s paper. Any plagiarism will result in a 0 on the assignment for all students involved with no chance to make the points up.

Extra Help: I am available to give extra help on projects and assignments during both lunches and after school. In addition you can go to the tutoring center after school in room 601 until 3:30 Monday through Friday.

Text Book: Students will receive a text book on the first day of class and are responsible for returning the book at the end of the semester. The fee for a lost text book is $65. Smaller fees may be assigned for damaged to the text.

Tardy Policy: Students will be allowed 2 tardies without consequence. After the third tardy there will be a call home. On the fourth tardy the student will receive detention
